2017 Festival Weekend

Due to the outpouring of support received at the fundraiser hosted by Pauline Johnson at LaKassa-we and numerous other personal and corporate donations after the Foodland fire, the Village office received truckloads of groceries, cash and gas card donations. After lengthy deliberations, council decided to distribute the groceries to those most affected by the loss of the Village's only grocery store. In partnership with Service to Seniors, each of their clients received a grocery bag, containing non-perishable items as well as produce and meat, purchased with the cash donations. Also, council and staff delivered packages to the residents of both senior’s complexes on the Logue road yesterday. On behalf of council, staff and residents we wish to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who contributed and offered assistance during this time of need. Your kindness and generosity, will not be forgotten.
